NATIONAL INITIATIVES TO END HOMELESSNESS

Addressing the issue of Homelessness is a national effort as President Bush has established a goal of ending long-term homelessness in ten years. The key is a "housing first" strategy, which places a priority on providing persons experiencing homelessness a permanent place to live along with the necessary support services so that they can be successfully housed over the long-term.
