As a voice for people who are homeless, the North Dakota Coalition for Homeless People coordinates and supports efforts to provide basic human needs and housing.

Local news:
Homelessness Awareness Week activity planned for November 3, 2007 at the Days Inn-Grand Dakota Lodge in Dickinson. The Empty Bowl Event will take place from 11 am - 1:00 pm. For a minimum donation of $10, you can purchase a handmade bowl, receive a ladle of homemade soup and a piece of bread. All proceeds go to United Way of Dickinson.

The Coalition will be doing presentations and showing the Homeless in the Heartland video to several different schools in the area. In addition, they will be putting an article regarding Homelessness Awareness Week in the Dickinson Press and Community Announcements. Informational flyers will be handed out at the grocery stores during that week.

10-YEAR PLAN UPDATE:
Dickinson's 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness was approved by the City of Dickinson on February 19, 2008. The Southwest Homeless Coalition has begun sub-committee work to start the implementation of the plan.
